This wide-ranging partnership corresponds to the major objectives of EGHN to support the enhancement of parks and gardens and the use of their resources for sustainable local and regional development strategies. The partnership also recognises the need to include major stakeholders, experts and target groups from the beginning of the project in order address the challenges it has set itself and to guarantee the full use of existing resources.

According to the regulations issued by the INTERREG programme there is no option to those outside the existing partnership to to become an official project partner, but the European Garden Heritage Network is open for all interested parties to discuss the future role of parks and gardens and to cooperate in joint activities.
