To accomplish its objectives, EGHN will build on the wide range of knowledge and the expertise the partners and their supporting bodies, organisations, networks and external experts can offer. Inspired by the INTERREG IIIB NWE slogan " Binding North-West Europe together" partners will work together on each of the six key actions that will be implemented during the three year project (September 2003 - August 2006).

In order to ensure and to facilitate transnational cooperation each action is led by one of the partners with at least one other having a major supporting role. The remaining partners give additional input ensuring broad application of ideas and dissemination of the results.

These six actions have been identified as the key to promote parks and gardens and their creative enhancement as a central element within sustainable development strategies at the local, regional, national and transnational level:
