Within Action 1 "Spatial Strategy" a comprehensive policy review has been carried out to identify policies etc. that refer to parks and gardens in regional planning or sustainable development strategies.

Within Action 2 "Inter-Regional Gateways" case studies for each of the five anchor gardens have been worked out to give essential and comparable information on their cultural, social and economic activities and relevance.
Joint reports for Schloss Dyck (Northrhine-Westphalia), Tatton Park (Cheshire), Painshill Park (Surrey), Hestercombe Gardens (Somerset) and Parc Oriental (Pays de la Loire) in English and German were published (a French version to follow soon) and are available for download here:

Also under "Inter-Regional Gateways" the partner "The Friends of the National Trust in Germany" has collected latest material on the opportunities and limitations of voluntary work in heritage protection and gives a comprehensive overview on existing initiatives for parks and gardens in Germany. This paper also reports how the National Trust manages the inclusion of volunteers at their properties or within their concept of Working Holidays. This paper is available in German only:

Within Action 3 "Transnational Themes" partners provided evaluations of existing visitor surveys available for various parks and gardens in their countries. This helped to understand visitor demands and to analyse market potentials for measures within the EGHN. It also gave essential input for the design of an own questionnaire which has been used for a transnational visitor surveys in 13 gardens.

Within Action 4 "Access" partners provided "Baseline Reviews of Transport and Access Conditions" for their anchor gardens to explore the current position and state-of-the-art initiatives. These reports have been subject to a joined evaluation and assessment in order to explore innovative measures to improve the current situation.

Within Action 5 "Interpretation" 75 parks and gardens in Pays de la Loire have been visited by a group of students to evaluate (according to a given questionnaire) the visitor welcome and information and interpretation material directing visitors to and available on the sites.

Within Action 6 "Education" the Transnational Working Group, including staff members of the partners, external experts, teachers and others, published a specific newsletter. It summarizes the work already done, the objectives for future work and explains next steps within this key action.
